Our african decorated hotelroom in the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Disney-world has a savanna view and so we can see giraffes and gazelles come by the balcony. Cannot find the words to describe this African-Disney setting but I have to admit that it really comes close to what African luxury hotels may offer in the ‘real’ world. Exept offcourse that we are here enjoying the perfectly organised service and amusement machine in which Disney exells!
We immediately go with the flow; offer ourselves the most american of breakfasts and jump on the bus to down town Disney. From there I grab a cab to the ticketoffice recommanded to me (outside the parc) to pick up the tickets that we ordered online. In the meantime J-Mi and Pauline check out the shops and restaurants. The weather is sizzling hot and damp. Sunshine, blue sky but clouds gathering at the horizon.
We head for the Magic Kingdom for a first day warming up. This parc we know from visits in Paris so our jet-lag won’t interfere too much with the ability of making difficult choices like which attactions to see first and when (!) But the flow brings us everywhere. Its perfect, the crowd not too dense, lining up never too long or boring, and we walk almost straight into a show and a parade. It’s all smooth and happy. We have to buy three poncho’s though, because every now and than a tropical rainshower pours over our heads, WET!!! It never really cools down however, and the sun usually is back real soon.
By the end of the day we literally drag ourselves into the bus, have a snack at the fast-restaurant and drop in our beds. The jet-lag has finally catched up with us. By 9 we are all 3 sound asleep……LOVELY FIRST DAY FOLKS!
